Trends to take note of

We’re not big on dictating trends at Design Joburg... although we do work with the best designers and innovators in the business! We asked a few of our collaborators for their insights into what’s leading the way in décor and design in 2017 and beyond.

It's all natural

“I am exploring sustainable timbers, eco paints and eco-engineered woods. I am thrilled that cork is a trending material, we’re hoping to have a couple of cork designs at the show.” – Mpho Vackier, founder and designer of The Urbanative

Mpho is showcasing her latest creations on her Urbanative stand within the Rooms on View section of the show.

Nostalgia with a touch of earthiness

“We’re seeing design going back to its roots with a return to midcentury modernism and colours that take their cue from mineral-rich soils and exotic spices.” – Craig Tabor-Raeside, owner of Crema Design

Crema Design will be showing visitors the very latest in global design with a stand designed by Roxanne Ferreira of Arrange in the Rooms on View section of the show.

Set to sparkle

“One word, iridescent. It's coming back in a major way and I am loving it.” – Thabisa Mjo, creative director at Mash.T Design Studio

Thabisa Mjo is one our our designers featured at Design Joburg where she will be collaborating with Tempur on a beautiful creative showcase.
